Listening to the long ringdown: a novel way to pinpoint the equation of state in neutron-star cores
We show that the behavior of the gravitational wave emission in the post-merger phase of a binary neutron-star merger should show a tight correlation with the pressure and density reached in the cores of maximally massive neutron stars.
